Our version of prefab multifamily housing is NEW — it embraces technological advantages, global resourcing and forward thinking. We’re not reinventing the wheel, as the concept of multifamily housing is over two thousand years old. Prefabrication and assembly line manufacturing is often attributed to Henry Ford and his early 1900’s mass production of automobiles, but an earlier version of prefabrication never ceases to fascinate. In the thirteenth century, the Venetian Armory, complete with its assembly line/prefabrication of war ships, produced the most powerful naval force on the planet for over three hundred years. Centuries earlier, and not far from Venice, Italy, the Romans created multifamily housing for the masses known as “Insulae.” These two historical references are at the heart of the HBG building design strategy where we’ve merged centuries old techniques with current digital processes. Aside from all the history, technology, research and development, our goals are simple:

• Create living spaces that enhance our quality of life

• Create places that celebrate culture

• Provide positive change employing a building typology that has traditionally and inadequately provided for an underserved sector of our American society.

Working with community leaders, developers, governing agencies and those investing in the future of our neighborhoods, we focus on our enhanced community living goals while concurrently delivering a prefab design-build solution that combines high quality construction within a shortened construction schedule at an affordable price-point.
